Let me first just say that the following page contains events and actions performed by adults that are trained professionals.... Kids don't try this at home!!!! Click here for a proper warning of what is to come.....
So it all began with an idea of going to Wisconsin and visiting a few breweries with a couple of friends and it ended with having 81 different beers in 81 hours. We landed in Milwaukee around 10pm on Thursday August 23rd and left at around 7am Monday August 27th. That is roughly 81 hours of debauchery in Wisconsin. Take a look at how the trip went down and see the complete list of Beers. Here is the theme movie of the weekend. We must have actually watched this movie 3 times in 4 days. Click here for the movie trailer of Beerfest 08/23/2007 We landed in Milwaukee and started our 81 hour trip with a quick drive to the Hajek family cottage.... With one quick stop at our first Brewery.
It all started with Delafield Brewery on the way from the Airport to the Cottage. Click here to visit the Delafield website Here at Delafield we had 8 different beers
Then we headed home to the Hajek Family cottage.... While at the Family cottage we drank several beers and stayed up until somewhere in the area of 5AM... Beers included at the cottage throughout the trip included: Over the time we were here at the Cottage over the next 3 days we drank 11 Different types of beers
08/24/2007 In the morning good Friend Hajek was up to the challenge of cooking us a fantastic breakfast. Bacon, Eggs, French Toast, and of course shots.... The off we headed to our second Brewery.... New Glarus!!!! New Glarus Brewing Company Website Here at New Glarus we got mix and match 6 packs in order to try all the beers New Glarus had to offer, in total we had 12 different New Glarus beers
Then we took some back roads and ended up at The Grumpy Troll.... Click Here for the Grumpy Troll Website Here we tried 8 different beers
An exciting day so far but we decided to head out and go to the next stop. On our travels we stopped for a few things at a local gas station and found this....
I was not sure if we had had too much to drink and were seeing things so I had to take a picture of this very intelligent looking dog as he drove this car.
Off to Capital Brewery........... Click here to visit Capital Brewery's website Here at America's #1 Rated Brewery we enjoyed 4 different beers
Here at Capital Brewery we stumbled upon a local Wisconsin radio station 100.5 FM in which they talk all Wisconsin sports all the time. Click here to visit 100.5 FM's website Here it is where Hajek and I changed the course of
conversation for the Wisconsin based radio station. The local "In
The Trenches" show which is hosted by former Wisconsin Badgers and
former NFL players
Tarek Saleh &
Derek Engler
We decided we needed something to fill time in order to sober up a bit............ How about opening weekend of Wisconsin High School Football? We stumble upon Middleton High School's opening night on their brand new $900,000 football field. (Click here to read about Middleton High School)
Back to the cottage where we ran into a few friends of Hajek's and drank the night away listenting to some great music and having some great conversation. I was also privy to a special Hajek family Tradition in which I was measured on the wall and added to the dozens before me.
08/25/2007 Had to start with putting together Dez's world famous Egg Bake... Then off to the next Brewery on out list... JT Whitney's Click Her to visit JT Whitney's Website Here we had 8 different beers
It was decision time since we had a DMB concert to go to.. Do we go to Great Dane Brewery or Ale Asylum???? We liked the name better and it turned out perfect as well. ALE ASYLUM IT IS!!!! Click her to visit Ale Asylum's Website Here we had 9 different beers
Things might have gotten a little out of hand here as we ended up having
a beer games competition in which you are to stack pennies on your elbow
and try to snatch them before they hit the ground. We might have
all been pretty damn drunk except for the 2 DD's. I however came
out a champion with 19 pennies off the elbow.
Where to go from here????? How about a Dave Matthews Band Concert at Alpine Valley? Click here to see how the concert went...... We also had a couple of beers here
08/26/2007 We head to Tyranena Brewery right as they open at 11:00 am Click Here to visit Tyranena's Website Here we try 9 more beers
Then back to the Hajek Family Cottage.... We had a fantastic lunch of grilled pork tenderloin.
We also hade a special moment for Hajek's family dog Ben who had passed away 08/11/07 as we spread his ashes around the tree Ben used to sleep under when he was at the cottage. Ben you will be missed...... And then I broke Hajek's deck and fell at least 50 feet to the ground... Because of my cat like reflexes I was unharmed except for my bruised ego.
Then off to Brewery #8 in which we finished off the actual Brew Tour... Click here for Randy's Fun Hunters Brewery website Here we try 5 more different beers
While I was in the bathroom Hajek decided we had not had enough to drink so he decides we need shots....
Then Hajek made me eat the egg..... I hate him now.
Then nowhere to go but another Dave Matthews Concert...... Click here to see how the concert went.... Here are a couple of videos off of our cells phones to see the concert Here is a video someone else took of Dreaming Tree being played from that night
Click here to download and watch the video... Then at this point we really had nowhere else to go but home... 81 Beers in 81 hours... See below for a comprehensive list. I have to say it was the best guy trip I have ever been on. Thanks Hajek for making it the best.
